MiWay
Mississauga Transit Communication and Education Campaign

Mississauga City Council was presented the Mississauga Transit Communication and Education Campaign at their 13th Session on Wednesday August 4, 2010. Director of Transit Geoff Marinoff and Manager of Transportation and Works Marketing Terry Dubois unveiled the rebrand of Mississauga Transit. A new name, service branding, paint schemes, bus stops, website and a smartphone app will be released along with the launch of MiWay. The name was selected as part of the four pillars of life in Mississauga, the relevent one in this case entitled "MOVE." Marinoff explained to council and dozens of observers that the change will work towards attracting the choice rider, the rider who is key to making transit successful.

57 new buses will be delivered this year. 20 Orion VII NG BRTs will be delivered in the blue MiExpress paint scheme, 15 Orion VII NG HEVs in the orange MiLocal, and 22 New Flyer D60LFRs in blue. On display at the Living Arts Centre were 1031, one of the 15 hybrids and 1051, one of the 22 BRT artics.
